When we’re not helping folks find their dream homes, you’ll find us out on the trails, because nothing beats Colorado’s mountain views and fresh air. Whether you want a long day-hike or a quick sweat before brunch, here are our favorite spots:

Castle Trail (back of Mt Falcon)

Just outside Morrison, this 8.8-mile loop feels like a secret escape. You’ll hike past wildflower-dotted meadows, red rock outcroppings, and even the old “castle” ruins, plus killer views of Denver in the distance.

Brainard Lake

Head up the Peak to Peak Highway and you’ll find this high-alpine playground. Our top pick is the Lake Isabelle loop (about 3.8 miles). Think sparkling water, summer wildflowers, and maybe a marmot or two for company.

Arapaho Glacier (near Nederland)

For a real adventure, tackle the Arapaho Pass trail. It’s about an 8-mile round trip from Hessie, climbing past reservoirs and granite bowls all the way to a glacier-fed lake. It’s tough, but that view at the top? Totally worth it.

Mount Sanitas

This 3-mile loop is steep but super rewarding. You’ll climb through pine forests and pop out on rocky ridges with Flatiron views. It’s our go-to when we need that “I earned this” feeling in under two hours.

Royal Arch (from Chautauqua)

Starting in historic Chautauqua Park, this 3.4-mile hike ends at a natural sandstone arch. The final scramble feels like a mini rock-climbing sesh, and the overlook back toward Boulder is unbeatable.

Schofield Pass via Gothic

Not a hike, but a must-do drive! Gothic Road, between Marble and Crested Butte, a rugged 4WD road winding through wildflower meadows and ghost-town ruins, opening up tons of trailheads once you crest the pass.

Emerald Lake

Right off Schofield, this 3-mile in-and-out is pure postcard material: turquoise water, jagged peaks, and a wildflower spectacle in summer. It’s the perfect reward after that dusty drive.

So lace up your boots, pack some snacks, and hit the trail. If you’re scouting a home near any of these trailheads, give us a shout! We’d love to help you find the perfect launchpad for all your outdoor adventures.
