Artist Spotlight: Jason T Graves, Mike Graves + Chris Haven

Supporting local artists and creatives is one of the things we are most passionate about, and most proud of. This month we focus on 3 muralists (among other mediums & talents) that are visible around Denver, and you’ll soon see why they caught our eye. Please seek them out, support their work and show some love for the unique contributions they make to our amazing city!

JASON T GRAVES:

Jason T. Graves is a professional fine artist, designer and printmaker, who has made his home in Colorado for over 20 years. While attending and later graduating from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago he began his artistic career by working as an traditional printmaking apprentice. This experience sparked his interest in the business operations of a printshop and solidified his commitment to a career in the Arts. Jason is widely known as a contemporary artist, designer and muralist. He is also known as the owner of Apollo Ink Printing, a reputable and accomplished business that he has operated for 16 years in Boulder, Colorado. Outside of his leadership role at his screen printing shop, Jason produces a prolific amount of murals, either on his own or by collaborating with different artistic partners. You can find public works created by Jason throughout the Denver / Boulder area  as well as other parts of the state and country such as Vail, Aspen, Wynwood, Miami and New Orleans. His refined and diverse styles creatively enhance the walls of business, offices, residential developments, music venues, underpasses, parking structures, schools, vehicles and galleries. Jason is known for his strong work ethic and consistent creative abilities. His desire to inspire and encourage others through his artistic talents speaks to his friendly, gentle nature and unselfish outlook on life. As a multifaceted artist, Jason is always finding ways to be creatively active and contribute to the cultural landscape that surrounds us all.

Mike Graves is a Denver based artist who specializes in whimsical character based paintings, illustrations, and murals. He has shown his work in Hawaii, Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Jose, Phoenix, Miami, Chicago, New York, Canada, Australia, the U.K. and France. He has created works on almost every type of surface and location imaginable over the past 24 years. He hopes that his art can bring a smile and a little joy to everyone’s daily life.

“These days, you can paint almost anywhere in RiNo,” Haven has said and, luckily for us, he does just that! Chris Haven is a local Denver based artist and designer. Around the city you can find his “Pyramid People”…a playful character he created to bring a smile to your face. He is also known for his “CityScape” murals which he has painted for Amazon, Shake Shack and many other businesses locally and abroad. Along with his mural work, he is also heavily involved in digital art, fashion, music and skateboarding.
