10 Ways to Celebrate Pride Month in Colorado

This pride month the Art of Home Team is excited to celebrate our amazing LGBTQ+ community. As June is commemorated for the Stonewall riots in 1969, this month is for remembering how far we have come. We celebrate LGBTQ+ culture, lift up LGBTQ+ voices, and firmly believe that how we choose to identify and who we choose to love should be celebrated!

Let’s honor the tremendous strides that the LGBTQ+ community has made throughout history by partaking in the different events taking place this month in our community.

Pride at McGregor Square| June 3, 5:30-7:30 pm
McGregor Square, 1901 Wazee St.

With a DJ, photo booth, prizes to win, and sunshine this is the perfect way to spend your Friday night kicking off Pride month. This event is free and open to all ages!

Cultural First Friday | June 3rd, 5 pm – 9pm
Museo de las Americas | 861 Santa Fe Dr.

The cultural first Friday in the Santa Fe Art District will be highlighting LGBTQIA+ pride this month. Wander through the shops and local artist booths while connecting with other art enthusiasts!

Boulder Pride | June 6th- 12th

With several events planned throughout the week, there is much to do in Boulder, Lafayette, and Longmont. Click the link to discover all of the fabulous festivals and more!

Queer Capitol Hill Walking Tour| June 4th, 1 pm -3 pm

Explore Queer Capitol Hill on this walking tour. The tour will take guests through Bachelor’s Row and look at how single apartments offered privacy for a closeted community. We’ll explore how public spaces were a refuge and places to connect for LGBTQ people.

Unbreakable | June 10th, 7:30 pm

King Center, 855 Lawrence Way #145

The Denver Gay Men’s Chorus is performing a new musical by Andre Lipp called Unbreakable – The Untold Story of our Community. This musical highlights over 120 years of LGBTQ+ history.

Nintendo Kiki Party | June 11th, 8 pm-1 am

Meow Wolf, 1338 1st St

As the band Scissor Sisters famously sang, “Let’s have a kiki!” we are confident they would be even more thrilled if the Kiki was at Meow Wolf!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow | June 12, 3pm-8pm

Blush & Blu, 1526 E Colfax

This event has been specially created for juniors under 20. The free admission to this spectacular event includes a photo booth and food. This party is a safe space to be your authentic self and come as you are. Everyone is welcome and celebrated!

Pride 5K | Saturday, June 25 

Colorado State Capitol Building

“Run, walk, roll or sashay!” Who doesn’t love a fun run that raises money for a fantastic cause? This year, $70k is the fundraising goal, and 100% of the funds raised will go to the Center on Colfax’s programs & services for Colorado’s LGBTQ+ community.

Pink Party | Saturday June 25, 6-10pm

The Tracks Yard

Dance, drink, and raise money for an amazing cause! The 17th annual Pink Party raises funds to support political candidates in Colorado who are pro-equality. Tickets are on sale and include an open bar, performances, speeches, and much more.

2022 Pride Fest | June 25th & 26th

Civic Center Park 

Be sure to mark this 2-day festival on your calendar! With over 250 exhibitors, 30 food vendors, a parade, and awesome live performances, this has something for everyone. The colorful Coors Light PrideFest parade will kick off Sunday at 9:30 am. You won’t want to miss this spectacular weekend of celebrations!

What is this event? 

We invite our LGBT+ Outdoors ‘family’ from across the country to a weekend campout like no other. LGBT+ Outdoorfest will be an engaging blend of hands-on workshops, education, community, and time to just stop and enjoy the fresh air – with the primary goal of inspiring attendees to pursue outdoor activities once the weekend is over, and inspire others from the community to do the same.
