We love celebrating our local artists! Meet three Colorado artists who would love for you to visit their next art openings from Santa Fe Art District to Arvada Center to Littleton & Crestone. Click on their socials for more info.

Bonnie Ferrill Roman
@bonnie_ferrill_roman_art / bonnieferrillroman.com
A Colorado-based mixed-media sculptor, installation artist, and digital photographer whose primary medium is cast and formed handmade paper, which she combines with fibers, natural media, encaustic, pigment printing, poetry, and light. Her work exhibits a contemporary aesthetic and resonates with metaphoric underpinnings and layered meanings, while simultaneously evoking a visceral experience of beauty and wonder for the viewer. In addition to her solo artwork, Ms. Ferrill Roman enjoys collaborating with like-minded artists, and has created extensive bodies of work collaboratively with painters, sculptors, print makers, ceramic & glass artists, digital artists, installation artists, and even a furniture designer.

James Garnett
@zenhomemyhome
Denver ceramic artist, James Garnett, primarily focuses on a firing technique called Raku which originated in Japan. The method utilizes a fast firing process of the glaze and a quick cooling to initiate a crackle pattern in the translucent glazes. His vessels are often inspired by architecture resulting in his current series of work focusing on houses. In recent years he’s also continued to construct hand-sized hearts which utilize the Raku firing technique to highlight the geometric glaze patterns that have become collectible due to each being unique. James currently exhibits at Artists on Santa Fe Gallery and Studios on Santa Fe Drive in Denver and N Kollective in Littleton at Aspen Grove shops.

Kim Roberts
@kimrobertsart / kimrobertsart.com
Colorado-based mixed-media artist. Her work is about spaciousness and peace, whether it’s the vast expanse of a mountain landscape or the peaceful quality of mind that arises within it. She divides her time between Crestone and Denver. Art of Home Team visited Kim Roberts in her RiNo gallery back in 2020, take a look at her process in this video.
