Fourth Annual Denver Modernism Week August 20-29, 2021 to Host Denver Mod Show, Miss Modernism Pageant, Mid-Mod Home Tours, and More, In-Person and Virtually

Denver Modernism Week returns this year for its fourth iteration, from Friday August 20th to Sunday August 29th. This annual event celebrates Denver’s fabulous mid-century modern architecture and designs. Now host of Denver Mod, Denver Modernism Week is going to be a high point of the summer! From in-person home and neighborhood tours to shopping, shows, talks, and pageants, Denver Modernism Week is here to inspire new ways for you to live, modern.

Here are some fun mod happenings you won’t want to miss this year:

Denver Mod Show: A Festival of Mid-Century Furnishings, Fashions, and Fun!
Friday August 27th & Saturday August 28th – Exploration of Flight Hangar – Wings Over the Rockies
The Denver Mod Show will be an all out mid-mod party, celebrating mid-century finds, collectibles, enthusiasts, and vehicles of the era. A highlight of the week, this festival will have auctions, a red carpet reception, Miss Modernism appearances, Motorama Auto Show, Mid-Century Airplane Fly-In, food trucks, and vintage shopping. Miss Modernism Pageant
Monday, August 23rd – 6-10pm
In-Person at HQ at 60 S Broadway
Denver’s finest Mid-Mod Contestants will compete for the title of Miss Modernism at the “wackiest Mid-Century inspired pageant you’ve ever seen!” Tickets available for purchase here.

Success Their Way: Four Mid-Century Women Who Made It
Wednesday, August 25th – 6-7pm
Virtual and In-Person at Lotus Advisors, 1005 S Gaylord
One-hour talk given by four Denver women, who are inspired by their vintage style, talent and savvy. Featuring: manager of Coco Palms in Kauai, HI, Grace Guslander; American artist, animator, and designer Mary Blair; Italian fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli; and American artist and entrepreneur Vera Neumann. Mid-Century & Modern Home Tour
Saturday, August 28th – 1-5pm
Wheatridge, CO
Enjoy self-guided tours of five mid-century and modern homes in Wheatridge, CO in an open-house format. Tickets include self-guided in-person tours, appetizers, and a drink ticket. Simply drive to the homes on the tour and meet the home-owners at the door, and enjoy tours of the fabulous mid-mod architecture and design. Virtual tours are also available from August 28th-September 4th, with purchase of a digital ticket.
