The Windsor neighborhood of Denver is located just south of Lowry and east of Aurora, bordered by Alameda, Quebec, and Mississippi, and Havana. The neighborhood features Windsor Lake, a popular gathering place for swimming, boating, fishing, and other lake sports and activities. Windsor Lake offers boat rentals, has its own dog park, and the 2.25 mile Windsor Lake Trail is great for getting your steps in!
Surrounded by parks and golf courses, this neighborhood is a lush suburb just outside the bustle of the city. Emerald Greens Golf Course inWindsor Gardens and CommonGround Golf Course are walking distance if you’re located in Windsor, and Cherry Creek Country Club is just a 13-minute bike ride south via the High Line Canal Trail. The Highline Canal Trail runs across the neighborhood east to west and connects to the Expo Park Disc Golf Course (just east of Havana).
Windsor is a mix of many cultures boasting various ethnic food restaurants in the area, including Ethiopian food at Portico Eritrean and Megenagna Ethiopian, Vietnamese food at Pho 99, Taz Indian Restaurant, Ali Grill Middle Eastern food, Barwaaqo East African food, and Chinese food at Nagoya Hibachi Express. Market Square and Havana Shopping Center are located at the southeast corner of the Windsor neighborhood, and offer a variety of shopping and dining options.
To the north there is the Lowry Sports Complex, Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, and North County Mexican Restaurant, among numerous businesses and eateries. Don’t miss the Lowry Beer Garden‘s outdoor patio, offering local beers and brats, or Rocket Ice Cream‘s inter-gallactic treats, served locally from a 50-foot tall lifesize rocket! The rocket was originally created in 2009 as an art installation for the Burning Man Festival, and is located outside the Hangar 2, next to the Air & Space Museum’s Air Force jet.
