We interviewed Aspen Lane owner, Mika Shreeve, to get the inside scoop on their opening.

Art of Home: Mika, we’re so excited for your opening! Could you tell us a little about Aspen Lane? What do you offer?

Mika Shreeve, Owner: We are a lifestyle boutique focusing on curated gifts, home decor, baby + kids wares, and women’s apparel. We strive to be a one-stop-shop to treat yourself to a new fun top, buy a gift for a friend, or pick up a new decor piece for your home. Our physical location in Beeler Park is an extension of our current e-commerce website that has been up since 2014.

Art of Home: This sounds like a perfect self-care date. What inspired you to open this new location?

Mika: Since starting Aspen Lane in 2014, I’ve always been on the lookout for a brick & mortar space. Last year, the right space at the right time fell into place. We have spent the past 6 years building our customer base on-line and are excited to have this extension of “on-line meeting offline”. Even in the midst of on-line shopping and all things delivery culture, I truly believe there is a need for local stores to exist and thrive so we can touch and feel things and still take a break from our screens. We are better together and luckily will serve our customers both in-store and on-line.

Art of Home: Ditto! There’s something truly special and serendipitous about going into a store and finding that perfect something. So how did Aspen Lane come to be?

Mika: I started Aspen Lane in 2014 as a gift manufacturer and e-commerce gift store. We design and manufacture gift items, and also began to wholesale from 250+ stores nationwide within 2 years. Our line has evolved over the years to add maternity and baby items. Our store brings in many of our favorite brands, local makers, and unique finds that people can’t get just anywhere.

Art of Home: What are some fan-favorites that you would recommend a first-time shopper?

Mika:  I love Savannah Bee company – great gift-able foods and bath products. We have a greeting card wall + tea towel stand that will make our customers laugh a bit as well, which we can all could use a little more of.

Art of Home: Laughter is the best of medicines! Your website had us giggling today, looking through all the fabulous products you have on offer. Any parting thoughts before we let you get back to planning your opening?

Mika: We are excited to serve the NE Denver community and are excited to finally be open. We will begin having covid-safe events and workshops later in the spring that will partner with local makers and artists. Follow us on social channels and sign up for our emails on our site to stay in the know.
